Is a new project I am currently working on to raise funds for a community learning center for Iraqi and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Syria. The AGE OF THE FEMININE 2010 Calendar will feature PIN UP style photos of English teachers living and working in Taiwan. The pin ups featured are from 1900 to 2010, with each month having
their decade, their style.

Here are a few photos of Kara Miller MISS MARCH ( pin up 1920) an English and yoga teacher working in Taipei. Kara is looking forward to returning to America to further here studies. She is single and available!!!!

Hidden In Plain Sight Exhibition at "A PLACE"

The WAR on GAZA, and now 879 dead, thousands wounded, and 22,000 from the 1,300,000 Palestinian refugees living in Gaza are internally displaced inside their own refugee camp. Think of that, you are a refugee, then your occupier comes, tells you to get out of your prison because they are going to bomb you, but in a prison, where exactly are you suppose to go?

I feel powerless to do anything, I think that is what has made me stop any activity for about 4 months now. Hopelessness in the face of the powers that be. After meeting with the refugees in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Occupied Palestine, I felt such a deep hopelessness I simply crawled into my cave and hid. Now I am coming out and continuing with my own personal struggle to do something, to do whatever it is I have the power to do to try to stop wars, to help those effected by wars and conflict, to be calm in the face of the storm, to be mindful.

So it is that I announce the exhibition HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT at A PLACE restaurant in Lung Tan, Taiwan, in the cozy setting of flowers, trees, peace and good food. A place we can meet and discuss the latest news, reason what it is we can do to be of service, and come together, bring our ideas and good will. Something must come of it.

“HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT” Exhibition, to benefit Iraqi and Palestinian Refugees presents photographs by internationally renowned photojournalists, at A PLACE in Lung Tan runs from January 12 until March 1st 2009. The photographers featured in this exhibition are: Kloie Picot, Rony Zakaria, Susetta Bossi, Tewfic El-Sawy and Gabor Teveli.

While the war in Iraq has generated a new flood of refugees fleeing the conflict, Palestinians have lived as refugees both inside and outside of Palestine for over 50 years. The photos will bring attention to and raise funds for Iraqi and Palestinian refugees from these conflicts.
